The latest twist in the protracted legal drama detailed in the popular podcast "Serial" came on Tuesday when a Maryland appeal judge upheld Adnan Syed's murder conviction and mandated a fresh trial.

Despite the fact that Syed's conviction has been overturned, he won't be arrested again right away.
